Bald Head Island is just a short ferry ride from Southport, NC. The ferry leaves at the top of hour every hour from Deep Point Marina in Southport daily. Please visit ​https://www.baldheadisland.com/island/ferry for more information.

No, it is a passenger ferry only. One of the unique things about Bald Head Island is that no cars are allowed on the island. You may see the occasional service vehicle, but no personal cars or trucks are allowed on the island.

Transportation on the island is limited to golf carts, bicycles and walking. Riverside Adventure Co. has bicycles available for the whole family and you are also permitted to bring your personal bicycle over on the ferry. Bicycle reservations are recommended Labor Day to Memorial Day and can be made here. Riverside Adventure Co. also has beach chairs and umbrellas available for rent once you reach the island.

The Riverside Adventure Co. family has a lot of activities available throughout the season. A full list can be found here but some favorites are our free Sunset Celebration & Carnival held on Monday nights and The Ghostwalk (reservations required). Will O' the Wisp (located beside The Sail Shop on Keelson Row) is home to nightly events like Trivia, Bingo and our Friday Night Concert Series. Of course there are also Bald Head's amazing beaches and the Maritime Forest Preserve.

Seating on the ferry is first come first serve, no reservations are accepted. However, if you are staying on the island the ferry offers a free tram service that will pick you up at the ferry and take you to your home and reservations for the tram are recommended Labor Day to Memorial Day. Located just steps from the ferry landing, Sandpiper Coffee and Ice Cream offers hot breakfast and fresh baked pastries all day and Delphina Coastal Cuisine is open for lunch and dinner and is #1 Rated on TripAdvisor. Both are members of the Riverside Adventure Co. family. In addition Will O' the Wisp offers free delivery of Marina Pizza and Luna Forest Tiki Bar offers a limited menu from the great chef's at Delphina!

Bald Head Island has full Fire, Police and EMS on island to handle any situation, reachable by dialing 911.
